uhMmm...

People Ask" How can you be friends
with someone you have never met?"
I tell them" You have never
been online I bet!".

It's something people offline
will never understand.
You open up your heart to
friendship with your typing Hands.

It's a world full friendship at your
finger tips, there is so much.
Online, it only takes a heart
to reach people with your touch.

First you start out online,
surfing all around.
Next thing you know a great
friend will be found.

You will chat a lot and
surf cyber space.
Soon it will be your second home,
a comforting special place.

A Friend to share your
dreams and your tears
and to help each other
wipe away life's fears.

You will share life together
and help each other along
You will make it thru bad weather
because friendship is so strong.

No matter how far apart you go,
your keyboards will keep you
together.
and in your heart you will know you
don't need a face to be a true friend
4ever...

PAG-IBIG

BUHAY (IN GENERAL)

"Pare, isa kang totoong tao at walang halong kasinungalingan. In English, FACT you, pare. Totoo ka. In English, FACT you!"

Tears.......

Why do women cry a lot more than men?

Most women are governed by their feelings, whereas, most men are governed by their thoughts.

For most women their feelings play such a big part in their daily lives that they can't help but broadcast them to the world (happy or sad). For most men feelings are secondary to thoughts. They may perceive feelings as getting in the way of logic or exposing weakness (example: crying).

Scientifically:

A common belief among people is that women are cry babies. If this belief is true, then why is it so?

Girls and boys cry about the same amount of times until they reach the age of twelve, by the time they are eighteen women cry on average four times more than men. That is about 5.3 cries a month compared to a man's 1.4 times per month according to research by Dr. William Frey who studies tears.

So the old belief is true, women do cry more than men. But scientists still do not know exactly why this is true. One theory is that women cry more than men mostly because of social conditioning. As males are growing up they are urged to excel and become powerful, to never show their emotions, to be tough, independent, demanding, aggressive and good problem-solvers.

Males in our culture often hear things like, don't be a sissy, don't whine like a little girl, be self-sufficient, powerful and dominate others. In comparison to females who are taught to be a lady, express their emotions and value their looks and charm.

Although these ideals and values of society are changing they still do exist. Another thought is that women cry more than men due to the physical and hormonal difference between them.

The hormone prolactin is present in the mammary glands and induces lactation but it is also found in the blood and tear glands. Boys and girls have the same level of this hormone until they are twelve years old. The girl's amount then gradually rises and by the time they are eighteen they have sixty percent more than boys do.

The tear glands in men and women are also anatomically different, as are their tears. According to Frey's research, when men cry 73 percent of the time, tears do not fall down their cheeks. Men may get misty-eyed, but teardrops don't give way. When women cry almost every crying episode involves runaway tears down their cheeks.

Many different things cause women to cry such as, frustration, stress, personal problems and hormonal changes caused by pregnancy, menstruation or menopause. All these things can lead to tears that are sometimes unavoidable.

85 percent of women and 73 percent of men said that they felt better after crying, which shows that tears may help remove chemicals that build up after stress according to Frey. Also scientists and sociologists both say that women are more inclined than men to feel the urge to cry when they are frustrated.

This may lead to problems for women in certain situations at work. Researchers at Pennsylvania State University found that men's tears are viewed more positively than women's. This is because men are found crying less frequently.

Crying could be a bad career-marring mistake. Both men and women often view crying as a sign of weakness or irrationality.

"Women in business don't cry, my dear," said Martha Stewart on her Apprentice television show to a female contestant who started to cry.

Final Blog Question

Question:

Since not all MCS 213 students can try DEBUG commands because of the technical problems of our computers, search now any Turbo C program with assembly codes in it and run this in your PC. Check the result of your running C program.

If the program produces the expected output, copy the Turbo C codes into your post and its result. YOu may do this by pressing Print Screen on your keyboard for the result of your program then, switch to Paint Brush and Paste
. Resize the window and copy this to your post.

Answer:

- It performs simple arithmetic operations on integer operands and displays the result..

#include

int main() {

int arg1, arg2, add, sub, mul, quo, rem ;

printf( "Enter two integer numbers : " );
scanf( "%d%d", &arg1, &arg2 );

/*This program will Perform Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication & Division */

__asm__ ( "addl %%ebx, %%eax;" : "=a" (add) : "a" (arg1) , "b" (arg2) );
__asm__ ( "subl %%ebx, %%eax;" : "=a" (sub) : "a" (arg1) , "b" (arg2) );
__asm__ ( "imull %%ebx, %%eax;" : "=a" (mul) : "a" (arg1) , "b" (arg2) );

__asm__ ( "movl $0x0, %%edx;"
"movl %2, %%eax;"
"movl %3, %%ebx;"
"idivl %%ebx;" : "=a" (quo), "=d" (rem) : "g" (arg1), "g" (arg2) );

printf( "%d + %d = %d\n", arg1, arg2, add );
printf( "%d - %d = %d\n", arg1, arg2, sub );
printf( "%d * %d = %d\n", arg1, arg2, mul );
printf( "%d / %d = %d\n", arg1, arg2, quo );
printf( "%d %% %d = %d\n", arg1, arg2, rem );

return 0 ;
}

Question Number Five

Question:

Research in the net the most recent assembler.
Describe its history, nature
and applications.
Evaluate this assembler from its predecessor.

Answer:

-Macro Assemblers-

The Microsoft Macro Assembler (abbreviated MASM) is an x86 high-level assembler for DOS and Microsoft Windows. Currently it is the most popular x86 assembler. It supports a wide variety of macro facilities and structured programming idioms, including high-level functions for looping and procedures.[1] Later versions added the capability of producing programs for Windows. MASM is one of the few Microsoft development tools that target 16-bit, 32-bit and 64-bit platforms. Earlier versions were MS-DOS applications. Versions 5.1 and 6.0 were OS/2 applications and later versions were Win32 console applications. Versions 6.1 and 6.11 included Phar Lap's TNT DOS extender so that MASM could run in MS-DOS.

History

In 1990s alternative assemblers such as Borland TASM, the shareware assembler A86, and NASM began to take some of MASM's market share. However, two events in the late 1990s allowed MASM to retain much of its market share. First, Microsoft ceased selling MASM as a commercial product and began distributing it free of charge as part of the Driver development kit. Second, the MASM32 package and Iczelion's Win32 tutorials appeared, making Windows' application programming with MASM possible. Later in 2000, MASM 6.15 was released as part of the Visual C++ Processor Pack, which is free. As a result, all versions of Visual C++ later than 6.0, included a version of MASM equal to the version of Visual C++. Later in Visual C++ 2005, a 64-bit version of MASM appeared (file name is ml64.exe). Combined with the huge installed base of MASM users, these events helped stem the defection from MASM to other assemblers.

Today, MASM is still the most popular assembler, despite competition from new products such as NASM and Yasm, FASM, and HLA. There are several other assemblers which are either use MASM's syntax or are designed for Windows, including RosAsm, POASM, GoASM and JWasm. RosAsm is a monolithic assembler and IDE developed for but independent from the ReactOS project. It is distributed under the GPL licence.POASM comes with Pelles C and is freeware while JWasm is a open source fork of the Open Watcom assembler.

Question Number Four

Question:

Justify what situations
or applications programmers will rather use Assembly Languages than
Higher Level Progamming Languages and
vice versa.

Answer:

the benefits of Assembly is that it is faster than any High Level Language and can provide algorithms that High Level Languages cannot.
and,
tHey rather use assembly, this is because of three main reasons:
Speed, Control and Preference..

Based on my research, assembly language is more human-readable than higher level language.

Generally, statements in assembly language are written using short codes for the instruction and arguments, such as "MOV $12 SP", as opposed to machine language, where everything is written as numbers.

Assembly language can have comments and macros as well, to ease programming and understanding.

Generally, programs called "assemblers" transform assembly language to machine language. This is a relatively straightforward process, there being a clear 1-to-1 transformation between assembly and machine language. This is as opposed to compilers, which do a complicated transformation between high-level language and assembly.

Some say, High level programming languages are more structured, are closer to spoken language and are more intuitive than low level languages like assembly language. Higher level languages are also easier to read and can typically sometimes work on many different computer operating systems. Some examples of higher level languages are Java, Visual Basic, COBOL, BASIC, C++, and Pascal. Lower level languages are typically assembly languages that are machine specific.

Computers run instructions at the binary level, interpreting zeros and ones as instructions. Rather than writing programming code at this level, we've developed languages that compile into the zeros and ones that computers understand. As these languages become more robust, they get further and further way from zeros and ones, becoming higher level languages.

Today's object oriented computer languages allow developers to mimic the real world with objects in code.

To use an analogy, high level programming languages are to spoken languages as low level languages are to Morse code. Morse code is not limited in what it can communicate, but it's not as intuitive or easy to use as spoken language.

Thats all, thank you!

MARK ARJIM G. PARBA

Question Number Two

Question:

Research in the net usual applications
done in assembly language. Describe these applications briefly and
cite the efficiency and effectiveness of these
applications.

Answer:

The assembler, isomorphic, mnemonic, high-level languages,
compiler
, interpreter and macro assembler..

Assembly language is used for remembering numeric
codes and calculating addresses.
They were once widely used for all sorts of programming. Also used primarily for direct hardware manipulation,
access to specialized processor instructions, or to address critical performance issues.
Typical uses are device drivers , low-level embedded systems ,
and real-time systems.

It is used to translate assembly language statements into
the target computer's machine code.
It performs a more or less isomorphic translation (a one-to-one mapping)
from mnemonic statements into machine instructions and data.
Thats all, thank you!

MARK ARJIM G. PARBA

Question Number Three

Question:
Research in the net what is the best assembler and why?

Answer:
tHe moSt moDern asSembLer, macro assemblers..

but,

like many of life's questions, there is no simple answer to the question "which assembler the best?"

This is because different people have different criteria for judging what is "best". Without a universal metric metric for
judging between those various assemblers, there is no way to pick a single assembler and call it the best.

Why?
Since macros can have 'short' names but expand to several or indeed many lines of code, they can be used to make assembly language programs appear to be much shorter. They can also be used to add higher levels of structure to assembly programs, optionally introduce embedded de-bugging code via parameters and other similar features.

What topic (s) in MCS 213 do you find easy
and/or difficult and why?

Answer:

A brain twister Programming, I find it very difficult but I'm trying my very best just to finish the given program correctly. Because I believe in the saying,
"Doing all your BEST is better than being the BEST!"
That's why even if I fall, at least I did my best.

I think there is no easy topic for me, but because of the effort given, trust in god, trust in yourself, you'll realized that everything is just so easy if you believe. After all, you can say...Huh!,Thanks God I'm successfully done..
